Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Germany, Imperial. A Rare and Unit-Attributed Pocket Watch to a First World War Serviceman

(Taschenuhr). A rare and well-preserved pocket watch issued to a First World War serviceman, constructed of a large and heavy silvered non-ferrous metal casing, the obverse featuring a white face with an intact glass crystal, the former with black numerals 1-12 graded at intervals of five between edge digit, topped by additional numbers 13-24 for use as a 24-hour clock, with number and minutes hands and an additional 60 stopwatch, the reverse bearing a carefully-engraved unit dedication of “9’ INGENIØRKOMPAGNI”, topped by a functional ribbed wind-up dial, the reverse opening on a functional swivel hinge to reveal a hatch and exposed internal mechanisms, marked “SWISS MADE”, also retaining a white paper label bearing a handwritten inscription that the watch belonged to a First World War soldier who lived 1870-1940, measuring 70 mm in diameter, with minor scratching visible to the case and crystal but in apparent fully-functional condition, a rare large example in near extremely fine condition.
