Germany, Imperial. A Christmas in the Field 1917 Badge
A hexagon shaped badge constructed of die-stamped non-magnetic metal, the obverse bears a man walking left with a shield with an eagle on it, carrying a sword and wreath in the other hand, superimposed in front of an eagle, inscribed to the left and right reading “WEIHNACHT IM FELDE” (CHRISTMAS IN THE FIELD), the top and bottom are inscribed with “KUK INF REG HOCH UND DEUTSCHMEISTER No 4”, the reverse bears a brown felt backer with a vertical pinback, measuring 34.94 mm (w) x 40.54 mm (h), very fine.
