1. A large Generalfeldmarschall Paul von Hindenburg badge, constructed of silver, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a plaque bearing an inscription of “VON HINDENBURG 1914” and topped by a 1914 Iron Cross, surrounding a bust of von Hindenburg executed in striking detail, the reverse with a barrel hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 39 mm (w) x 40 mm (h), weighing 14.4 grams, in extremely fine condition.
2. A Central Powers badge, constructed of gilded and silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a detailed gilt disc bearing a central raised medallion with the profiles of Emperor Franz Joseph, Kaiser Wilhelm II, Sultan Mehmed V, and Tsar Ferdinand I, situated above gilded and enameled coats of arms of Germany, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire, the reverse with a clip hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a rounded catch, unmarked, measuring 28 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
3. A first war year badge, constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse bearing a central raised Iron Cross flanked by dates “1914-1915”, circumscribed by an inscription of “GOTT STRAFE ENGLAND” (“GOD PUNISH ENGLAND”), the reverse with a clip hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 23 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
