Germany, Weimar. A Field Honour Badge
(Deutsches-Feld-Ehrenzeichen). Constructed of gilded and silvered bronze with enamels, vertical pinback, the obverse with an eight-pointed radiant star, overlaid by a Maltes Cross with white enameled arms, with a central German soldier, with gilded crossed swords piercing the central adornment, the reverse with inscriptions of “Deutsches Feld-Ehrenzeichen” (“German Field Honour Badge”) and “Hamburg 11”, with a hinge and round wire catch (pinback missing), measuring 54.17 mm (w) x 64.24 mm (h), weighing 30.5 grams, in very fine condition.
