A fine quality textbook example of a first war Prussian Pilot’s (Flugzeugführer) badge; in silver (marked “800” for silver content, with the standard crescent moon); hollow construction; the obverse with the standard pilot’s badge motive with very fine details within a wreath consisting of oak and laurel leaves; a bow on the bottom with a Prussian crown at the top; vertical pinback with a barrel hinge and a single breather hole underneath the round wire catch; maker marked “C. E. Juncker, Berlin” on the reverse; measuring 71.69 mm x 45.46 mm; weighing 29.5 grams. Accompanied by its case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper, with a burgundy faux leather (leatherette) exterior; lined interior lid with a cutout in the medal bed for award seating; functional exterior clasp closure; intact interior fabric hinge cover; functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 90 mm x 65 mm; extremely fine condition.
