Germany, Imperial. A Flier’s Commemorative Badge, by C.E. Juncker
(Flieger-Erinnerungsabzeichen). Constructed of silvered brass, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a semi-hollow German State Crown, around a central eagle set over a hollow background, just above a rural landscape, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by C.E. Juncker, Berlin, measuring 45.35 mm (w) x 71.40 mm (h), weighing 24.6 grams, with some loss of finish evident, in extremely fine condition.
