Germany, Imperial. A Naval Observer’s Badge
(Beobachterabzeichen). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension, consisting of an oval laurel and oak wreath tied together at the bottom with a bowtie-style ribbon, the obverse with a perched eagle with a sunset on the horizon, topped by a German State Crown, the reverse with a silver purity mark of “800”, etched with the name “Seppel”, measuring 31.18 mm (w) x 51.84 mm (h), weighing 7.7 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
