Germany, Imperial. A Prussian Observer’s Badge, by C.E. Juncker
                (Beobachterabzeichen). Constructed of silvered brass with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom with a bow tie ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, around a central black and white enameled square set within a red enameled border, superimposed on a ribbed background, the reverse with a barrel hine and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, with two visible clips securing the obverse applique in place, maker marked “C.E. JUNCKER, BERLIN”, measuring 45.11 mm (w) x 71.24 mm (h), weighing 28.4 grams, with minor loss of silver finish visible to high-contact points in addition to a small enamel scratch, in near extremely fine condition.
