Germany, Imperial. A Prussian Pilot’s Badge, Square Punch Marked, with Recipient Photo
                (Flugzeugführerabzeichen mit Foto). Constructed of silvered brass, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom with a bow tie ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, around a central depiction of a monoplane flying over a rural landscape, the reverse with a low-set barrel hinge and wide pinback, the latter stamped with the classic square punch mark for an unidentified but widely-documented manufacturer, measuring 45.32 mm (w) x 71.63 mm (h), weighing 14.8 grams, missing its catch, a well-detailed example in very fine condition, accompanied by a large photo of the recipient, standing beside a biplane in full uniform and with a Prussian Pilot’s Badge clearly visible, unmarked, measuring 118 mm (w) x 169 mm (h), the reverse bearing some remnants of an adhesive and card stock from previous album display, in near extremely fine condition.
