Prussia. A First War Prussian Pilot’s Badge Miniature Stick Pin in its Case of Issue
A very fine example of a Prussian Pilot’s (Flugzeugführer) badge miniature stick pin; the obverse with a standard pilot’s badge motive within a wreath, with laurel leaves towards the left side of the wreath, and oak leaves towards the right side of the wreath, separated by a bow on the bottom of the wreath, ordained by the Prussian crown at the top; the reverse with a 52 mm long knurled needle pin; measuring 12 mm (w) x 20 mm (h); with its original case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper; with a burgundy faux leather (leatherette) exterior; lined interior lid with a raised medal bed featuring a pinch-point to securely hold the stick pin in place; functional spring catch with stud release; partially severed fabric hinge cover; intact exterior metal hinge; measuring 74 mm (w) x 38 mm (h); in overall near extremely fine condition.
