Two-piece construction, bronze gilt with red, white, black and blue enamels, unmarked, illustrating a fouled anchor on a German tri-colour background in the centre, inscribed "FÜR VERDIENST IM MARINE VEREINSWESEN" on the centrepiece ring, marked on the arms clockwise from the left " D, B, M, V", 39.8 mm, suspended from a bronze gilt loop bearing oak leaves with pinback, a tri-colour ribbon fed through the loop, intact enamels, very light contact, extremely fine.
