What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Twenty-Two Percent (22%) of the Hammer Price

A Cased 1942 Issue Kriegsmarine Bulkhead Aneroid Barometer by Lufft Metallbarometerfabrik GmbH

This is a 1942 Kriegsmarine bulkhead aneroid barometer, used onboard Kriegsmarine surface vessels. It is constructed of bronze and aluminum, with a metal dial imprinted with “mb” (millibars), “Lufft” (manufacturer), a Kriegsmarine eagle with “M” standing for Kriegsmarine, as well as 3599 (possibly the model number). It has roman numerals printed onto the face, ranging from 860 to 1090 in 10 mb intervals, with 10 ticks in-between, standing for 1 mb increments per tick. It features a blue heat treated pointer, as well as a silver pointer connected to a wheel on the outside of the glass cover. The backing of the barometer is widened to allow secure attachment to the wall via three holes. On the side of the barometer is an adjustment screw, with an additional screw behind the unit, presumably to open the device. It measures 154 mm in diameter at the base, with the face having a diameter of 130 mm. Accompanied by its original high quality wooden transit case, with “Präzisions-Barometer” and “Lufft” printed in black lettering on the obverse of the lid, and “13904” printed on the side near the opening. The opening mechanism consists of a latch-type mechanism that functions flawlessly in combination with a metal hinge on the reverse of the case. The interior of the case features felt inlays on the inside of the lid, as well as a recessed wooden “bed” for the barometer to sit in without moving within the case. The case features the date “19.10.42” written in pencil on the bottom (presumably the date of production). It measures 181 mm x 181 mm x 77 mm. Also included is a testing certificate, with the matching serial number (13904N), as well as pressure testing date. On the bottom of the certificate is the temperature at which it was tested, the barometer reading outside of the testing environment (983.3 mb), as well as the day it was tested and calibrated (23.10.42). It also features a stamp of when the barometer was returned to the factory to be recalibrated (April 1964). The certificate measures 208 mm x 143 mm, with frayed ends, but overall completely legible. The barometer is currently non-functioning, but in used/extremely fine condition.
