(Schloss Wewelsburg Essbesteck). A mixed lot of five pieces of cutlery from the mess hall of Wewelsburg Castle, including a pair of mis-matched soup spoons, each constructed of a silver-plated metal alloy, the obverse handle of one spoon bearing stamped double Sig runes circumscribed by an inscription of “WEWELSBURG”, the other spoon bearing a circular stamped inscription of “GEMEINSCHAFTSHAUS WEWELSBURG”, the reverse of both spoons bearing an identical Wellner maker’s mark and silver plating stamp of “90/45”, both measuring 45 mm (w) x 210 mm (l), in extremely fine condition; a salad fork, constructed of a silver-plated metal alloy, the obverse handle bearing stamped double Sig runes circumscribed by an inscription of “WEWELSBURG”, the reverse bearing a Wellner maker’s mark and silver plating stamp of “90/45”, measuring 22 mm (w) x 182 mm (l), in extremely fine condition; a dessert fork, constructed of a silver-plated metal alloy, the obverse handle bearing stamped double Sig runes circumscribed by an inscription of “WEWELSBURG”, the reverse bearing a Wellner maker’s mark and silver plating stamp of “98-18”, measuring 21 mm (w) x 158 mm (l), in extremely fine condition, and; a teaspoon, constructed of a silver-plated alloy, the obverse handle bearing stamped double Sig runes circumscribed by an inscription of “WEWELSBURG”, the reverse bearing a Wellner maker’s mark and silver plating stamp of “90/18”, measuring 30 mm (w) x 138 mm (l), in extremely fine condition.
