Germany, Third Reich. A Silver Butter Knife from the Personal Table Service of AH, by Bruckmann & Söhne
(Buttermesser). Constructed of silver, of two-piece construction, consisting of a gently curved and non-serrated blade, affixed to a handle with an intricately stylized border, the obverse bearing a raised NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed swastika, flanked by initials “AH”, the reverse stamped with a crown and crescent moon indicating German manufacture, a silver content number of “800”, and the hallmark of Bruckmann & Söhne, Heilbronn, measuring 20 mm (w) x 210 mm (l), weighing 68.8 grams, demonstrating only minor, age-appropriate tarnishing, a scarce example in near extremely fine condition.
