A Kreigsmarine Member's Car Pennant
A Kreigsmarine Member's Car Pennant - Recently acquired locally, this item was brought back by a pianist that had been performing with the Canadian Army during the war in France and Holland. Possibly field made with two triangular panels of navy blue cotton-rayon sewn back-to-back, large Kriegsmarine eagle insignia independently embroidered in yellow on both panels, left and right-facing eagles, obverse and reverse respectively, top and bottom edges trimmed in a strip of yellow cotton-rayon, left side with a white cord fed through the navy blue hoist sleeve, magnetic metal clips at either end of the hoist sleeve for attachment to a car flagpole, creasing beside the hoist sleeve on the reverse, creased near the tip, very clean, extremely fine.
