(Deutsche Arbeitsfront Fahne für Kriegsmusterbetriebe). Of multi-piece construction, the banner is composed of a red rayon field, trimmed on three sides with twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire tassels. The banner features a double-sided central DAF insignia in the form of a black rayon cogwheel, trimmed with silver aluminum wire tresses, with a central white field bearing a black mobile swastika, similarly trimmed with silver aluminum wire tresses. Stitched into the bottom right corner of the banner is a War Merit Cross-style Maltese Cross, constructed of machine-embroidered silver aluminum wire, with a central mobile swastika inside an oak leaf wreath. The flag is unmarked and measures 119 cm (w) x 145 cm (h). Minor soiling and mothing is evident, but it is in an otherwise near extremely fine condition.
Footnote: The Kriegsmusterbetriebe was bestowed upon German industrial concerns who made a meritorious contribution to the war effort. After an initial 19 banners were issued on 1 May 1942, a total of 134 were granted by March 1944.
