This is an excellent example of a desirable and sought-after gorget, constructed of silvered die-stamped steel, the obverse depciting an eagle with spread-out wings, two buttons (one on either side), and a ribbon banner inscribed “Feldgendarmerie”, all with a glow-in-the-dark radium finish, the reverse with a metal hook for the chain, and an adiditonal stabilizing hook to be attached to the uniform, with a field-grey wool backer, measuring 164 mm (w) x 73 mm (h), with its 705 cm long multi-link chain, in worn condition, but with nearly all of its original silver finish remaining, and with the glowing paint extremely well preserved and in still-glowing state, in overall better than extremely fine condition.
