Germany, Heer. A Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 100 Stein
(Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 100 Stein). An extremely well-preserved Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 100 commemorative stein, constructed of glazed porcelain. It features a rounded, protruding side handle, to which is affixed a pewter lid with a swivel hinge. The top of the lid features a raised Heer-style Stahlhelm set within a circular oak leaf wreath. The exterior bears a hand-painted, multi-coloured image of Gebirgsjäger personnel marching through a mountainous tearing with a packed mule in tow. Beneath the image is a unit dedication of “2. (E.) KOMP. GEB. JÄG. REGT. 100 LAUFEN”. Flanking the image is an inscription of “ZUR ERINNERUNG AN MEINE DIENSTZEIT” (“IN MEMORY OF MY SERVICE TIME”), and a owner’s name of “JÄGER RINDFLEISCH MICHAEL”). Etched onto the side is a measurement of “0.5L”. Partially-legible marks are etched onto the base. The stein measures 95 mm (w) x 138 mm (h) (inclusive of lid). The stein presents free of chips and wear, and is in an overall extremely fine condition.
