Germany, Imperial. A Set of Kaiserliche Marine Binoculars, by Emil Busch
This is a well preserved pair of first war German binoculars that were used by the Kaiserliche Marine binoculars. These are of the 09-Type by the Emil Busch A.G of Rathenow, and is marked as such on the central dial along with the model number “09” and “3 ½” to indicate their magnification. These binoculars are non-magnetic, being crafted of brass, with glass lenses. Attached to either side of the eye pieces is a blackened leather carrying strap. The eyepieces are rotatable and adjust to create a sharp image. The eyepieces are also adjustable to fit the user’s face. Stamped towards the end of these binoculars is the Royal Crown, as well as “M” (indicating Marine use), and the serial number “6086”. These binoculars appear well used, which has caused the paint and the rough protective finish on the binoculars partially come off. This set of binoculars is functional and in overall very fine condition.
