Germany, Third Reich. A Pair of Reich Chancellery Cutlery
(Reichskanzlei Bestecke). A set of Reich Chancellery cutlery, including a table fork, constructed of silver, the obverse featuring a ribbed handle, with a raised NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed swastika, the reverse stamped with a crown and crescent moon indicating German manufacture, a silver content number of “925”, and the hallmark of Körner & Proll, Berlin, measuring 22 mm (w) x 180 mm (l), weighing 57.0 grams, in near extremely fine condition, and; a butter knife, of two-piece construction, consisting of a magnetic stainless steel non-serrated blade, plain with the exception of a maker’s mark of “J.A. HENCKELS, SOLINGEN, ZWILLINGSWERK”, along with the company’s twin logo and an inscription of “NICHTROSTEN” (“RUSTPROOF”), set into a stylized silver handle, the obverse bearing a raised NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed swastika, measuring 18 mm (w) x 210 mm (l), weighing 64.8 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
