Germany, Wehrmacht. A Krim Shield Silver Cigarette Case

Constructed of silver, the exterior bearing stamped geometric and floral designs, the obverse with initials “AJ” flanked by a period original Krim Shield, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, consisting of a shield bearing a map of the Crimean Peninsula and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates “1941-1942”, the interior features an additional etched map of Crimea, above an inscription of “KRIM”, topped by a date of “1943”, as well as a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, marked with a illegible silver content number, opening with a functional spring catch with exterior stud release, measuring 98 mm (w) x 78 mm (h), minor material fatigue and oxidation evident, in overall better than very fine condition.
