Germany, Luftwaffe. A 1940 Air War School Klotzsche Distinguished Student Trophy to Unteroffizier Werner Reinicke
(Luftkriegschule Pokal). Constructed of two pieces of pewter, consisting of a chalice bearing a carefully-engraved Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, topped by a domed lid bearing a raised and wreathed mobile swastika, with the edge circumscribed by an engraved inscription of "NICHT EINZELLEISTUNG SONDERN GEMEINSCHAFTSLEISTUNG" (“NOT INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE, BUT COMMUNITY PERFORMANCE”), with the signature of Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring, affixed to a wooden base, the obverse riveted with a pewter plate bearing an engraved inscription of “LKS. 1. DRESDEN-KLOTSCHE, UFFZ. WERNER REINICKE, LEHRGANGSBESTER MÄRZ 1940”, indicating that the trophy was issued to Unteroffizier Werner Reinicke for exceptional performance at the Air War School Klotzsche, measuring 8 cm (w) x 8 cm (l) x 29 cm (h), a unique personalized item in extremely fine condition.
