Germany, NSKK. A 1939 Motor Group Alpenland Winter Sports Victor’s Plaque, by Klotz & Kienast
(NSKK Wintersportkämpfe Plakette). Constructed of zink, the obverse consisting of a triangle topped by a National Socialist Motor Corps (NSKK) insignia flanked by a date of “1939”, interspersed with edelweiss, with a pair of skis laid across diagonally, in turn bearing an inscription of “MOTOR-GRUPPE ALPENLAND 1. SEIGER MANNSCHAFTSLAUF B.” (“MOTOR GROUP ALPENLAND 1ST PLACE TEAM RACE”), with a red-highlighted inscription of “WINTERSPORTKÄMPFE” (“WINTER SPORTS GAMES”) across the bottom, the reverse maker marked “KLOTZ U. KIENAST, MÜNCHEN”, measuring 74 mm (w) x 80 mm (h), with loss of finish evident, in very fine condition.
