Germany, Third Reich. An Unusual US Serviceman Second World War Trophy Plaque
(Plakette). Constructed of coppered bronze with enamels, the obverse consisting of a black enameled field bearing an inscription indicating that the plaque accompanied a war trophy obtained from German forces in the Second World war to “MAX BROSE”, in recognition of his distinguished service by the US Treasury Department at the behest of Wayne County Retailers War Finance Division, perforated by holes at all four corner for rivet attachment, measuring 58 mm (w) x 84 mm (h), demonstrating some scratching an loss of finish, an unusual item in better than very fine condition.
