A 1936 Munich House of German Justice Cornerstone Laying Ceremony Plate
This is a commemorative porcelain plate for the cornerstone laying ceremony of the Haus des Deutschen Rechts (House of German Justice) in Munich, Germany. On the exterior it boasts a glossy white oven-baked finish, along with the symbol of German courts in the centre of the plate, circumscribed “Haus des Deutschen Rechts - Grundsteinlegung - 24.10.36”. The reverse is maker marked “Nymphenburg” along with the maker’s stylized logo that is imprinted into the porcelain, and “Akademie für Deutsches Recht Jahrestagung 1936”. The plate measures 185 mm in diameter, and depicts light wear around the edges where the glossy finish has worn off due to age. It is in overall extremely fine condition, without any cracks or chips.
