Germany, Wehrmacht. A 44 Marsh Pattern Camouflage Helmet Cover
(Wehrmacht Stahlhelmbezüge). A very well-preserved Wehrmacht camouflage helmet cover, constructed of a light cotton-blended cloth. The exterior is dyed in a classic Sumpfmuster 44 (Marsh Pattern) mottle, consisting of irregular tan- and olive-dab coloured shapes, interspersed with dark brown patches and overlaid by consisting olive-drab splinters. The exterior features six integral loops distributed around the circumference for the optional addition of foliage. The interior presents plain. Unmarked, the cover measures approximately 335 mm (w) x 190 mm (h) when folded flat. A small hole is visible to the lower edge of the right side, with miniscule patches of fatigue elsewhere. The cover is an unworn example, in an overall near mint condition.
