Germany, Heer. A First War German M17 Combat Helmet by F.C. Bellinger
(Heer Stahlhelm). Constructed of magnetic steel, flanked on both sides by protruding ventilation holes, five metal rivets distributed across circumference of helmet, two lower rivets hold chinstrap in place, three upper rivets secure interior liner apparatus in place with butterfly-style clips, stamped on interior “BF64” for manufacturer F.C. Bellinger, size 64, and “BW9188”, measuring 235 mm (w) x 301 mm (l) x 145 mm (h), chinstrap and interior liner are missing, minor rust evident around fixtures, presents in otherwise very fine condition.
