Germany, SA. A Rare SA-Gruppe Pommern General’s Garrison Cap

(Lagermütze für General der Sturmabteilung). A rare SA-Gruppe Pommern (Pomerania) garrison cap for a General’s equivalent rank (Gruppenführer/Untergruppenführer), constructed of an olive-drab wool cloth. It is fully surrounded by fold-down side panels, scalloped at the front and trimmed with a silver aluminum wire tresse topped by interwoven black and white threaded piping. The crown is adorned with an additional band of twisted and rolled gold bullion wire piping, and flanked on each side by ventilation holes reinforced with brown-painted magnetic metal grommets. Stitched onto the left side of the panels is an insignia consisting of a triangular dark green wool backer bearing a silvered bronze first pattern SA-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 45 mm (w) x 40 mm (h). The exterior completes with a button affixed to the peak. Measuring 22 mm in diameter, the button is constructed of pebbled and gilded magnetic metal, with the reverse maker marked with the logo of F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid. The interior is fully lined with a multi-piece, golden-brown, cotton-blended liner. The right side of the liner retains an intact Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) label bearing a handwritten membership number of “18762” and a stamped secondary code of “206624”. It measures approximately 290 mm (l) x 105 mm (h) when folded on a flat surface.
