(Polizei Tschako). A West Berlin Police Shako constructed of Vulkanfiber with front and rear peaks, an adjustable leather chinstrap fitted to the front resting above the front peak and located on white metal post mounts, fitted to the front is a white metal star-shaped badge featuring at its centre a black bear within a shield beneath a crown, located above the badge is a white metal field badge cockade consisting of an oval with a red ring to the centre, the field badge is constructed of pressed metal, representing an earlier style used in the Imperial period when made of wire and cloth, the interior of the shako consists of a 9-tongue leather liner, stamped with the size “56,” label detached and missing, and in overall near extremely fine condition.
