Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Germany, Wehrmacht. A Rare Terek Cossack Volunteer Officer’s Overseas Cap

(Wehrmacht Schiffchen für Offiziere der Terek Kosaken). A rare Terek Cossack volunteer Officer’s overseas cap, constructed of smooth field-grey wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold-down side walls which are scalloped toward the front. A band of silver aluminum wire piping fully trims the outer edge of the crown, while the front third of the side walls are similarly trimmed with identical piping. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia consisting of a dark green rayon backer bearing a machine-embroidered silver aluminum wire Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 70 mm (w) x 30 mm (h). Pinned into the front of the cap just below the eagle is a non-magnetic metal cockade, measuring 25 mm (w) x 30 mm (h) and painted in the classic black and blue colour scheme of the Terek Cossacks. The cockade is surrounded by a dark blue soutache which is securely stitched into the structure of the cap. The interior is fully encompassed by a multi-piece slate-grey rayon liner. Unmarked, the cap measures approximately 27 cm (l) x 11 cm (h) when folded on a flat surface. Issues consistent with age and field wear are evident, and include moderate fatigue to the exterior wool with sporadic patches of mothing, minor loss of finish to the cockade, and soiling throughout the interior liner. A scarce example of an Officer-grade Cossack volunteer’s cap in very fine condition.
