Crafted out of fine Mützen-Trikot (cap tricot) with a fine twill weave (Körperbindung) pattern of parallel running ribs. The piping along the crown of the cap, as well as the top and bottom edge of the cap band cloth are in green Gebirgsjäger/Mountain Troops Waffenfarbe. The cap band cloth is crafted out of dark forest green felt cloth. The visor is made of thick and stiff black leather. The insignia consist of a silvered wreath with a matching tri-colour cockade with a silvered metal (magnetic) Wehrmacht eagle placed on the front center of the cap, above the wreath. The inside of the wreath is lined with a khaki coloured liner with a sewn-in clear plastic diamond, with a tag “Münzenfabric A. Müller, München, Dachauerstr. 123, Telefon 56461” within it. The sweatband is crafted out of matching khaki leather, stitched into place using black thread. The leather is marked “Cap i Ku”. Measuring 143 mm x 123 mm. This “officer’s” cap appears very gently used, if at all, without wear on the inside of the cap. The insignia remain very well preserved with some silver wash having worn off due age. Light mothing with a small rip on the top of the fabric towards the rear of the cap. Overall better than extremely fine condition.
