A Second War German Wehrmacht Heer (Army) Artillery Tropical Overseas Cap
A fine example of a second war German Wehrmacht Heer (Army) Artillery tropical overseas cap; constructed of olive coloured cotton, with fold-down side and back panels with downward sloping scallops towards the front. The front of the cap features a machine embroidered tropical eagle that appears to be factory stitched to the cap, with a machine embroidered tricolour (black, white, red) cocade directly beneath, with a red embroidered soutache between the eagle and the cockade. All insignia appear to be original to the cap. Both sides of the cap feature brown enameled rivets, functioning as air vents. The interior of the cap is fully lined with a bright red cotton blended fabric, and features multiple black stamps. One stamp is “54”, along with “2590”, “0100”, “343”, and R. Btr.-Nr.0/0265/5044”; measuring 268 mm x 105 mm; an extremely fine example with minimal signs of wear; in overall virtually mint condition.
