A Wehrmacht Administrative Officer's Side Cap
Constructed with a bluish-gray wool exterior, fold down panels with downward scallops to the front and forward sides, metal reinforced eyelets in olive gray on either side, with two rising peaks forming a valley along the top, trimmed along the top edge around the circumference and along the scalloped edge of the fold down panel in a thatched silvered bullion wire, reinforced stitching along the edges of the fold down panels and the opening of the cap, an eagle in fine silvered aluminum wire on a hunter green embroidered base sewn in place on the peak at the front, a cockade with a painted black base incorporating a silvered ring and red felt centre placed upon the fold down panel at the front, the cockade framed by two rows of hunter green embroidered cord in an inverted v-shape. The interior is lined in a silvery-gray rayon. The cap measures 110 mm x 272 mm, exhibiting light soiling on the interior from active use, slight discolouration in the wire trim along the top edge, the exterior free of mothing, both the interior and exterior without interruptions in the fabrics.
