A Wehrmacht Heer (Army) Cavalry Officer Visor Cap by B-Hamkens, Hamburg

This Wehrmacht Heer Kavallerie Offizier visor cap is crafted out of interwar Mützen-Trikot. The piping along the crown of the cap, as well as the top and bottom edge of the green cap band cloth are in gold/yellow Wehrmacht Cavalry Waffenfarbe. The cap band cloth is crafted out of dark forest green felt cloth and does not display any obvious signs of wear. The visor is made of black lacquered Vulkanfibre with a slightly raised molded ridge running along the brim. The chin cord is crafted of twisted bullion cords and are attached to the cap with one pebbled aluminum button on each side of the cap. The insignia consist of a padded and raised hand embroidered bullion wreath with a metal tri-colour cockade. The cap also displays a silvered Wehrmacht eagle placed on the front center of the cap, directly above the wreath. The inside of the cap is lined with black silk-textured liner with a sewn-in clear plastic diamond with matching fabric with “Meister Klasse Leicht Dauerhaft. B-Hamkens, Hamburg, 36 Kaiser Wilhelm Strasse 25” embroidered into the diamond. The sweatband is crafted out of grey-coloured leather and is perforated towards the front of the cap, with a very well preserved but extremely brittle red/orange sweat-absorbing sponge. This officer’s cap appears overall well preserved, with the outside trikot, insignia, chin straps and inside liner well preserved. However, the Vulkanfiber visor is 70% detached from the cap. If repaired, this visor would be in near mint condition, but currently rates as very fine. (C:100)
