Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Germany, Heer. A Gebirgsjäger Officer’s Visor Cap by Robert Lubstein (Erel)

(Heer Gebirgsjäger Schirmmütze). A Heer Gebirgsjäger Officer’s visor cap, constructed of field-grey wool twill with a forest-green wool cap band. Light green piping adorns both the crown and the top and bottom of the cap band, indicating Gebirgsjäger personnel. Pinned into the peak is an aluminum Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 66 mm (w) x 26 mm (h), retaining all three reverse attachment prongs. Underneath the eagle is a silvered and gilded edelweiss, measuring 32 mm (w) x 32 mm (h), retaining both reverse attachment prongs. The exterior insignia completes with a central aluminum wreath around a tri-colour cockade, measuring 68 mm (w) x 45 mm (h) overall. It is flanked on each side by a pebbled magnetic metal buttons securing in place a decorative chinstrap constructed of multiple rows of twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire. A protruding black lacquered vulcanfibre visor is set securely into the structure of the cap. The interior features a 40 mm-wide brown leather sweatband with ventilation holes across the forehead. A golden-yellow rayon liner fully encompasses the interior, with a transparent moisture guard stitched into the crown. Underneath the moisture guard is a mark of “EREL, BERLIN”, circumscribed by an inscription of “OFFIZIER KLEIDERKASSE”. The sweatband also bears a mark of “EREL”, as well as an inscription of “STIRNSCHUTZ” (“FOREHEAD PROTECTION”). The cap measures approximately 235 mm (w) x 290 mm (l) x 165 mm (h). Patches of mothing are evident to both the crown and cap band, with some loosening of the visor stitching, material fatigue of the sweatband, and soiling of the interior liner. The cap is in an overall very fine condition.
