What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Twenty-Two Percent (22%) of the Hammer Price

Germany, Heer. An Armoured Officer’s Overseas Field Cap

(Heer Schiffchen für Offiziere der Panzertruppe). A Heer Armoured Officer’s overseas field cap, constructed of field-grey wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold-down side panels, scalloped at the front. The panels are trimmed across the peak with a length of silver aluminum wire piping, while an additional length of identical piping trims the outer edge of the crown. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia consisting of a field-grey rayon backer bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 68 mm (w) x 28 mm (h). Stitched onto the front of the panels is an aluminum wire tricolour cockade measuring 25 mm in diameter. Surrounding the cockade is a rose-pink embroidered soutache. The interior is fully encompassed by a multi-piece grey rayon liner. It is unmarked with the exception of a size stamp of “59” on the crown. The cap measures approximately 300 mm (l) x 130 mm (h) when folded on a flat surface. Issues consistent with age and wear are evident, including material fatigue of the outer wool and wire, fraying of the cockade, soiling of the interior liner, and the loss of a length of sweatband formerly set across the forehead. This field-worn example is in an overall very fine condition.
