Germany, Heer. An Army EM/NCO’s M43 Field Cap
(Heer Einheitsfeldmütze). This is an extremely well-preserved Heer (Army) M43 field cap, constructed of thick field-grey wool. The cap features fold-down panels, offering optional neck and ear protection, which, when not in use, are held in place by dual frontal pebbled, magnetic metal buttons. The peak of the cap bears an insignia in the form of a field-grey rayon trapezoid with a machine-embroidered Wehrmacht-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a tri-colour cockade. The insignia measures 60 mm (w) x 45 mm (h). The cap features a protruding cardboard-reinforced visor securely stitched into the structure. The interior features a complete grey rayon liner, stamped with a Reichsbetriebsnummer “0/0062/0143” and a size of “56”. The cap measures approximately 205 mm (w) x 270 mm (l) x 110 mm (h). The cap is free of evident faults and is in an extremely fine condition.
