What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Germany, Heer. An Engineer NCO’s Visor Cap

(Heer Pioniere Schirmmütze). An extremely well-preserved Heer Engineer NCO’s visor cap, constructed of field-grey wool with a forest-green wool cap band. The cap is trimmed with a band of black piping at the crown, as well as additional bands at the top and bottom of the cap band. Pinned into the peak is an insignia in the form of a silvered bronze Wehrmacht eagle, measuring 65 mm (w) x 26 mm (h). Underneath the eagle, the centre of the cap band bears a silvered bronze wreath around a tri-colour cockade, the latter constructed of aluminum with a red felt centrepiece. The cap band insignia measures 68 mm (w) x 45 mm (h). The cap is flanked on each side by a black magnetic metal rivet securing in place a black leather chinstrap, adjusted by functional dual magnetic metal buckles. When not in use, the chinstrap wrests upon a protruding black vulcanfibre visor. The interior features a brown leather sweatband, measuring 48 mm in width, with the forehead perforated by ventilation holes. It also features a complete rayon-blended interior liner, with the crown bearing a transparent plastic moisture guard. Underneath the moisture guard is a silver inscription of “STIRNDRUCKFREI DEUTSCHES REICHSPATENT”. The reverse of the sweatband is stamped with a size mark of “58” in black ink, as well as an illegible mark. It measures approximately 252 mm (w) x 275 mm (l) x 155 mm (h). Minor material fatigue and loss of finish is evident to the cap and metal features, respectively, but it is in an overall near extremely fine condition.
