Germany. A Rare DAF German Labour Force High Leader’s Overseas Cap; RZM Tagged
(Deutsche Arbeitsfront Betriebsobmann Schiffchen). Constructed of dark blue wool exterior, with two rising peaks forming a valley between the two, the edges of the peaks and the sides of the cap trimmed in golden aluminum bullion embroidery in a thatched pattern, the side piping gently sloping downward towards the front, featuring an eagle insignia consisting of twisted, flat, and rolled embroidery in the shape of a national eagle with open wings clutching a wreathed mobile swastika. Below the eagle are two vertically oriented pebbled metal (magnetic) buttons. The interior of the cap is lined in purple rayon, with a brown faux leather (leatherette) sweatband towards the front third of the cap. It features a DAF-RZM maker mark tag that is numbered “397640” and “104” in black ink. It measures 290 mm (w) x 116 mm (h), and is in lightly worn, but overall near mint condition.
