What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Germany, HJ. A Winter Service Cap

(HJ Wintermütze). A well-preserved HJ winter service cap, constructed of padded dark navy-blue wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold-down side panels, scalloped at the front, providing optional ear and neck protection to the wearer. When not in use, the panels are rolled up and secured in place at the front with a non-magnetic buckle which emanates from the right strap and secures to two magnetic metal-reinforced eyelets on the left strap. Pinned onto the peak of the cap is a HJ insignia, constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels. Affixed with a vertical pinback, the insignia is marked on the reverse with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code “M1/42” for Kerbach & Israel, Dresden, and measures 15 mm (w) x 25 mm (h). Completing the exterior features is a protruding cardboard-reinforced visor, fully lined in identical wool. The interior is encompassed by a black rayon-blended liner, and retains a pristine RZM label bearing a secondary code of “258021”. The crown also bears a silver size mark of “53”. The cap measures approximately 210 mm (w) x 240 mm (l) x 85 mm (h). A small patch of mothing is evident to the obverse wool of the visor. It is in an otherwise near extremely fine condition.
