Germany, Kriegsmarine. A Female Auxiliary Overseas Cap

(Kriegsmarine Bordmütze). An extremely well-preserved Kriegsmarine Female Auxiliary overseas cap, constructed of smooth dark blue wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold-down side panelling, trimmed with golden-yellow piping around the circumference. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia in the form of a dark blue rayon patch with a golden-yellow machine-embroidered Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika. The insignia measures 65 mm (w) x 30 mm (h). The interior features a complete black rayon liner which presents plain. The cap is unmarked and measures approximately 285 mm (l) x 140 mm (h) when folded. Two small patches of mothing are evident to the left side, and there is evidence of eagle insignia replacement. In overall near extremely fine condition.
