Germany, Kriegsmarine. An EM/NCO Overseas Cap
(Bordmütze). A cap constructed of black cloth, with fold down side and back panels with gently sloping, downward scallops to the front, the front of the cap features a machine-embroidered, a post war reapplied Kriegmarine-style eagle patch in golden-yellow cotton threads, mounted on a navy blue base, and a national tri-colour cockade in black, white, and red rayon threads, both the eagle and the cockade are machine-stitched into place, the left side presents a non-magnetic metal edelweiss insignia, secured to the cap with four loops stitched to the cap, the interior of the cap is fully lined in grey cotton-rayon, presents a black ink stamp stating 56 B.A.K. 9.6.41 II, measures 28 cm (w) x 12 cm (h) (folded), very clean, small hole on left side, and in overall near extremely fine condition.
