Germany, Luftwaffe. A 1st Fallschirm-Panzer Division Hermann Göring EM/NCO’s Overseas Cap
(Fallschirm-Panzer-Division 1. Hermann Göring Schiffchen). A very well-preserved 1st Fallschirm-Panzer Division Hermann Göring EM/NCO’s overseas cap, constructed of smooth black wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold-down side paneling. Stitched into the peak is an insignia in the form of a black wool patch bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika. The eagle insignia measures 70 mm (w) x 45 mm (h). Underneath the eagle is a multi-coloured machine-embroidered tri-colour cockade, measuring 28 mm in diameter. The interior features a complete grey cotton twill liner, which presents plain, with the exception of a black ink size stamp of 59. It is otherwise unmarked and measures approximately 280 mm (l) x 130 mm (h) when folded. Some soiling of the insignia and exterior is evident, with a small hole visible near the top of the eagle’s right wing. The cap is in an overall near extremely fine condition.
