Germany, Luftwaffe. A Luftwaffe EM/NCO’s Tropical Overseas Cap, by Berolina
(Luftwaffe Schiffchen). A very well-preserved Luftwaffe EM/NCO’s overseas cap, constructed of a tan-coloured light cotton twill material and fully surrounded by fold-down side panels. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia in the form of a tan-coloured cotton backer bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, measuring 68 mm (w) x 35 mm (h). Underneath the eagle, the cap bears a machine-embroidered tri-colour cockade measuring 18 mm in diameter. The interior presents without a liner, and is marked with a manufacturer’s stamp reading “BEROLINA, BERLIN 1942”, as well as a size stamp of “56 ½”. It measures 280 mm (l) x 120 mm (h) when folded. The cap displays light soiling to the exterior, but is in an otherwise near extremely fine condition.
