Germany, Kriegsmarine. An EM/NCO’s Overseas Cap, Owner-Attributed
(Kriegsmarine Schiffchen). A well-preserved Kriegsmarine EM/NCO’s overseas cap, constructed of dark blue wool. It is fully surrounded by a fold-down side panel with gentle frontal sloping. Stitched onto the peak of the cap is an insignia consisting of a dark blue rayon backer bearing a machine-embroidered gold bullion wire Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 75 mm (w) x 35 mm (h). Pinned onto the left side of the panel is a tradition badge presenting as a zink torpedo with a horizontal pinback, measuring 40 mm (w) x 5 mm (h). A light blue rayon-blended liner fully encompasses the interior, stitched with a white name tag reading “WERNER MÖLLER”. The cap measures 270 mm (l) x 120 mm (h) when folded flat. Some age-appropriate material fatigue is evident, but the cap is in an overall near extremely fine condition.
