A Second War DRK (Deutsches Rotes Kreuz) EM/NCO’s Overseas Cap
This is an extremely well preserved, near mint, DRK (Deutsches Rotes Kreuz/German Red Cross) Feldmütze constructed of gray wool, with fold-down side and back panels, with semi-aggressively sloping downwards scallops towards the front. The front of the cap features a machine embroidered national tri-colour cockade in black, white, and red cotton embroidery, as well as a white double-brimmed machine embroidered triangular soutache directly above the cockade. On the left side of the cap is also a DRK insignia, constructed of black, white, and red embroidery, on a light gray rayon backer, and with off-white embroidered bordering. Each side of the cap also features a set of black-painted rivets that act as air vents. The interior of the cap is fully lined with a black cotton/rayon blended fabric, and is marked “57” in white ink. The cap measures 283 mm 109 mm (folded) and is in overall in near mint condition, and does not show any significant signs of wear or age on the interior or the exterior.
