A TeNo (Technische Nothilfe) Visor Cap
This cap is in grayish-green wool with a 45 mm black wool band and a traditional high peak, black embroidery interlaced with silvered aluminum wrapped white threading forming the piping along the top edge and flanking either side of the band. It is decorated with a silvered aluminum TeNo eagle insignia on the peak and a full wreath of laurel leaves in silvered aluminum, surrounding a tri-colour cockade on the band, the cockade in silvered and black metal with a red felt centre. Three-piece black leather chin strap rests upon the visor housing length adjustment buckles at the junction points, with black-finished magnetic metal buttons on either side. The vulcan visor has a smooth black leather-look upper and a grayish-green synthetic underside. The grayish-green leather sweatband is perforated along the front edge with four tiny rows of twenty-eight ventilation holes each, the ends of the sweatband stitched together. The underside of the sweatband has a newspaper support from "Robert's News" in California and dated Thursday, July 18, 1946. The inside of the cap is lined in a light gray rayon, with the dome brandishing an unmarked diamond-shaped celluloid moisture shield, measuring 235 mm x 260 mm x 150 mm in height overall. The peak of the cap exhibits scattered mothing and wear on the exterior in the grayish-green wool, with light soiling on the top, the TeNo eagle with scattered silvering wear. The chin strap, visor and sweatband remain free of crazing. Better than very fine. (C:100)
