(Schirmmütze). A Reichsbahn (Railway Service) High Ranking Official’s visor cap, constructed of navy blue wool, the crown of the cap is fully lined by red piping, while the cap band, constructed of black velvet, is also trimmed at both the top and bottom with red piping, pinned into the peak of the cap is a flat gilt second pattern Party style eagle (post-war replacement), measuring 35 mm (w) x 27 mm (h), pinned onto the centre of the cap band underneath the eagle is a gilt winged wheel, measuring 150 mm (w) x 38 mm (h), surrounding a silver metal cockade featuring a red felt centre, the visor is constructed of Vulkanfiber, with a molded raised ridge running long the brim, it is lacquered in glossy black on the obverse, and is coloured in brown on the underside, remaining firmly attached to the cap, the chin cord consists of a main cord crafted of multiple thick strands of twisted golden bullion chords with navy blue detailing, as well as two sliders constructed of braided, twisted bullion cord, and is attached to either side of the cap via a silvered pebbled non-magnetic button, the interior of the cap is lined in light brown silk fabric, the interior sweat shield features an embossed gilded maker mark for Reichsbahn-Kleiderkasse, Ludwig Vögele, Mützenfabrik Karlsruhe, towards the edge of the cap is also a brown leather sweatband, the visor cap measures 230 mm (w) x 260 mm (l) x 153 mm (h), presenting mild loss of gilt to the winged wheel insignia, showing heavy wear to the interior especially the sweatband, and is in overall very fine condition.
