Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

A First War Baden Dragoon Regiment Peaked Cap, Named

A First War Dragoon Regiment, Number 20 Peaked Cap, Named - This fine quality cap is fabricated from the highest quality doeskin wool, in steel blue colour. It has a row of red piping along the top edge, with an Imperial cockade incorporating a black painted rayed base, topped by a silvered ring and a raised red centre. Immediately below is a wide red wool band that travels the circumference of the cap, with a gold-painted rayed Baden cockade on the front. The visor is black vulcanfibre, the underside of which is synthetic, crosshatched and finished in black. The black headband is leather, with the two ends joined at the seam via a white full-length drawstring on the left side. The dome is fabricated from a black rayon, stamped with the Lieutenant's name, "Guilini", in gold-coloured type, with part of the "G" missing. The cap has evidence of intermittent moth invasion in the steel blue wool, along with some light discolouration on top, minor contact marks on the vulcanfibre visor, along with light wear on the headband. However, it continues to exhibit smooth quality in the wool, superb workmanship, maintaining its original period look, in near extremely fine condition. Accompanied by paper work, one black and white Reserve company postcard, one colour Regimental horseman postcard and one colour Waldorf-Astoria Album cigarette card #211 of a standing Lieutenant.  Footnote: Lieutenant (Oberleutnant) Giulini is on the Ranklist from 1914, Badisches Leib-Dragoner-Regiment Nr. 20, I Hamburg. He survived the war and is documented as having been awarded the Order of the Zahringen (Empress) Lion, 2nd Class with Swords. (GHH4131)
