(Civil Verdienstmedaille). Type XI. Originally instituted 1769. A circular medal constructed of gilded metal alloy, the obverse bears the left-facing portrait of Friedrich II, circumscribed with “FRIEDRICH II GROSSHERZOG VON BADEN”, the reverse is inscribed with “FÜR VERDIENST” (FOR MERIT) encompassed by an oak leaf wreath tied with a ribbon at the bottom, measuring 38.87 mm (w) x 43.43 mm (h), with suspension loop on a yellow and red ribbon, very fine.
